Once home to the Kwangtung Hui Kuan of Singapore, this historic shophouse has been reimagined as Lotus on Water — a sanctuary where Fengshui clients, art collectors, and VIP guests come to recharge, discover, and connect. Our design honours the shophouse's heritage while breathing new life into it as a gallery and retail destination.
The interiors weave together antiques sourced globally by Master Yun Long Zi with his own vibrant paintings, blending Asian and Western influences into a layered, living aesthetic. A standout challenge was honouring Master Yun's personal request for 22 distinct colours — a bold palette that, through careful curation, flows cohesively across all three floors. Nowhere is this more striking than the stairwell, where a deep red was chosen to contrast and complement the gold frames of Master Yun's works.
Every element was brought in by hand — furniture, antiques, chandeliers — carried up the stairs without a lift. It's a small detail that speaks to the larger commitment: that every decision, however demanding, was made with care.
The result is an immersive world where design, heritage, Fengshui, and art converge — a singular interior that celebrates Master Yun's vision and the enduring legacy of a historic Singapore shophouse.
