BDO LLP is an international provider of accounting, tax, consulting and advisory services. As the company continued to grow, it wanted to modernise its Singapore workplace and create an environment that would appeal to a new generation of professionals.

I.Dezign developed a contemporary office that supports BDO’s current teams while preparing the workplace for future expansion. The renovation included restacking departments, introducing more flexible work settings and creating stronger opportunities for collaboration.

The Project Challenge

The main challenge was to transform a traditional corporate office into a more open, energetic and future-ready workplace.

The new layout needed to accommodate BDO’s continued growth and changing departmental requirements. At the same time, it had to support different levels of privacy, particularly for senior staff who previously worked in private partner offices.

The design also needed to attract younger professionals without losing the polished and professional character expected from an international accounting and advisory firm.

Our Design Approach

I.Dezign introduced a clean, contemporary design with carefully placed colours to create a more energetic alternative to a conventional corporate office. The traditional private-office arrangement was replaced with an open-plan layout and pod working suites. This approach allows more natural light to reach the workspace while maintaining appropriate privacy for senior employees.

Five to six informal brainstorming touchpoints were positioned throughout the office. These areas give employees convenient settings for quick discussions, collaborative work and idea sharing without always needing to book a meeting room.

A central pavilion forms one of the main workplace features. Designed as a flexible, room-free gathering area, it can support larger meetings, presentations and company town hall events.

Sustainability was also included within the design. Preserved moss introduces a biophilic feature into the workplace, while adaptive furniture allows different spaces to support changing activities and working requirements.

The Project Outcome

The completed BDO LLP office provides a more open, collaborative and adaptable environment for employees. Pod working suites balance openness with privacy, while the brainstorming touchpoints and central pavilion encourage communication across teams. Natural light, preserved greenery, flexible furniture and bright accent colours also create a more welcoming workplace experience.

The renovation supports BDO’s departmental restacking and future expansion while helping the company retain existing employees and attract the next generation of professionals.
